Google Digital Garage and AND Digital partner to deliver AI training for UK SMEs

Google Digital Garage has joined forces with international tech consultancy AND Digital to launch a new suite of AI and digital skills training courses designed to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) stay competitive in an increasingly digital world.

Launched this summer, the trainer-led programme focuses on equipping UK businesses with practical, in-demand skills in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Data, and essential human skills like leadership and problem-solving.

Drawing on AND Digital’s proven expertise in digital transformation, the courses are structured to deliver immediate, real-world value and are tailored to meet the evolving needs of SMEs looking to adopt cutting-edge technologies.

“The pace of technological change means digital skills are no longer a ‘nice to have’—they’re critical to business resilience and growth,” said Mike Lee, President of AND Digital. “Through our collaboration with Google Digital Garage, we’ve shaped a learning experience that reflects today’s market and prepares learners for long-term impact.”

The partnership follows the release of AND Digital’s report The Nature of the Digital Skills Gap, which highlighted the growing need for practical digital skills training among UK businesses. The findings influenced Google Digital Garage to expand its curriculum to better reflect the most relevant and future-focused digital capabilities.

Eight high-impact courses were developed, each co-created using robust market research and learner feedback to ensure the content aligns with the needs of UK SMEs.

So far, over 3,400 learners have completed the new courses—demonstrating strong demand among business leaders, entrepreneurs and employees seeking to understand and apply emerging technologies like AI.

“We really valued AND Digital’s contribution in revamping our Google Digital Garage curriculum this year,” said Sarah Lewin, Product Marketing Manager for Grow with Google. “Their technical expertise and experience in supporting digital transformation gave us a rich range of insights to make the programme as impactful as possible for our learners.”

In addition to co-developing the curriculum, AND Digital provided training and coaching for Google’s internal trainers, enabling them to deliver content at scale while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery.

The programme is regularly updated in line with Google I/O announcements and Gemini AI releases, ensuring course content remains relevant and at the forefront of industry development.

As businesses navigate a challenging economic environment, this collaboration aims to empower SMEs to seize digital opportunities, adopt AI tools with confidence, and build long-term resilience through accessible, practical learning.

“This initiative brings together Google’s global reach with AND Digital’s deep knowledge of tech skills development,” added Mike Lee. “We’re proud to help shape a programme that empowers businesses to adapt, grow and lead in the digital economy.”
