A LAWMAKER on Tuesday said she remains unmoved over the threats and harassment she has received amid efforts to impeach Vice-President Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio at the House of Representatives.

“These cowardly acts of intimidation will not deter us from pursuing accountability,” Party-list Rep. France L. Castro said in a statement, referring to efforts to hold Ms. Duterte liable for alleged misuse of public funds.

“These childish threats and harassment will not intimidate me. They are only proving that we are on the right path in holding accountable those who have squandered public funds,” she added.

The Office of the Vice-President did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

Ms. Castro on Monday set a meeting with other impeachment complainants and lawmaker-endorsers to consolidate ouster moves against the embattled vice-president.

Three impeachment complaints have been filed against Ms. Duterte last month, with all ouster raps seeking her removal for her alleged misuse of public funds, betraying the public’s trust and committing graft and corruption. — Kenneth Christiane L. Basilio
